Exotics Health Check
At Stonewall Veterinary Clinic,we are excited to welcome exotics patients to our clinic. Exotic patients encompass our furry, scaled, and feathered friends. We strive to provide the best possible care for your companion and exotic pets.
All health checks include a full physical examination, along with a review of husbandry and diet requirements. We provide the following services at this time:
Ferrets: Health checks include a full physical, nail trim, and ear mite treatment for the initial exam. Depending on demand and need, we hope to provide distemper and rabies vaccination in the near future. If this is a service that would be of interest to you, please call us and let us know!
Rabbits: Health checks include a full physical, including oral exam, and nail trim. Following a health check, tooth trimming under sedation or light anesthetic may be recommended.
Guinea pigs: Health checks include a full physical and nail trim.
Hedgehogs: Health checks include a full physical. Often this needs to be done under sedation or light anesthetic since these critters love to curl up when they feel threatened or are stressed. This allows for a thorough exam and less stress for your pet!
Small birds: Health checks include a full physical. Wing, beak and nail trims are also available.
All others (rats, mice, snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, etc…): Health checks include full physical.
On occasion, we may refer an exotic patient to another clinic, as we are not yet fully equipped to meet the needs of every exotics patient. In the future, we hope to expand our exotics services depending on demand and need. Please call us at 467-2481 to book your pet’s appointment today!
